MMNA Update 5/21/12

City Work Announcement

The work will be an application of slurry seal which is a pavement preservation program by the City of Albuquerque. Work will consist of closing various streets on several days to apply and allow the material to cure. Street closures are done to allow residents to be able to park on adjacent streets for the day so work can be completed as efficiently as possible. The Contractor conducting the work will provide residents 48 hours notice (flyers posted on doors/garages). However because of possible delays/changes due to weather, mechanical problems or re-scheduling of street due to unforeseen circumstances only residents of the street planned for work will be notified. Residents on adjacent streets will notice increase parking and may find their usual route within the neighborhood impacted. Work is scheduled to begin May 22nd in another neighborhood and this neighborhood has not yet been scheduled by Contractor. However, all neighborhoods are anticipated to be completed by late August. Residents will know when work is planned by the Contractor notification noted above. I trust this information will be helpful should you be contacted by association members impacted by the work.
