Winter Weather Web Resources

Since Jan. 4, some kind soul (as best I can tell, probably on Camino Ecuestre) has set up a meteorological station in Matthew Meadow and begun sharing the data on the Weather Underground.  Minute-by-minute updates plus historical data and links to radar may be found at http://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KNMALBUQ209.  Tip o’ the hat to whomever set this up.

Also of interest, the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network has a station near Matthew and Rio Grande — http://www.cocorahs.org/Maps/ViewMap.aspx?state=NM&county=BR.  CoCoRaHS updates every morning at 7:00, but has more accurate hail and snow data.

And while we’re on the subject of useful weather tools, don’t forget to check NM DOT (http://nmroads.com/) for road conditions and construction notifications.  The map also has a “Cameras and Message Signs:” menu option that will let you view statewide highway webcams.  To view webcams, open the pull-down menu, check the Cameras box, and select a location.
